Mexico Orphanages & Feeding Centers

History

God’s Kids was started in 2002 after Dion and Petra took a trip with their church down to Mexico and were introduced to a few orphanages and feeding centers that needed help.

Casa Hogar Belen, Tijuana: This is a very popular orphanage 4 miles across the border that a large number of individuals and organizations support. One supporter was a church in Orange County and a pastor of that church invited us to go with them and we went. Once we saw Casa Hogar it was an easy decision to support as it was obvious it was clean and well run orphanage and the number of supporters validated it was worthy of our involvement. Today, it stands as a model of a well run and highly accountable organization with excellent record keeping.

Amistad Familiar, Mazatlan: I received a phone call from a pastor in Chino Hills who had found our website. He asked if he could bring a visiting Mexican pastor and his wife by the office for a visit/interview. We soon met with Pastor Carlos who was instantly credible and with the strong recommendation of the pastor it was an easy decision to travel to Mazatlan to observe their operation in person. Once this visit was complete, it was very obvious that this was a ministry we should support. Today, this ministry remains one of our best examples of a well organized and fully accountable ministry. They are always on time with their monthly reports and respond immediately to any request we make of them. Pastor Carlos’ son-in-law is a bi-lingual, Canadian citizen who works along side his father-in-law to run the orphanage.
