Instability, Poverty, and Exploitation...Philippines

An effective democracy has struggled to emerge in the Philippines due to allegations of government corruption, a soaring national debt. This kind of instability trickles down to the most vulnerable members of the Filipino population - children.

Between 60,000 and 100,000 children in the Philippines are trapped in prostitution. Thousands of girls leave their village homes in search of work in the cities to support their starving family. But more often then not, someone lures them into the underground network of sexual exploitation. Once captured, they are held captive for years.

For the orphan, this world of abuse is even harder to avoid. Without anyone to look after them, street children are commonly used as slave laborers and prostitutes.

God's Kids in The Philippines...

We're building a village! There's going to be 20 homes, a playground, a school, and an opportunity for kids to escape poverty and hopelessness. Each house will be home to ten orphaned children and a houseparent.

We've partnered with a passionate missionary couple who have a vision to give 200 orphans a safe, loving, Christian home. Mike and Jeanette Propp of Kingdom Adventures have been dreaming of building the Village of Hope since 2002.
