Antonia "Mama" Barajas founded Casa Hogar Belen in the summer of 1977. Mama Antonia has opened her heart and her doors to thousands of children in Tijuana who've been abandoned or abused. Over the years, Casa Hogar Belen has been home to more than 7,000 children!
Today, Casa Hogar Belen is home to almost 70 children ranging in age from toddlers to college students. Mama Antonia continues to love and care for these kids with help from her family. The Barajas family takes the responsibility for the orphanage very seriously. "We are a Christian family that has a very important mission that God has commanded to us," says Ana Britta, Mama Antonia's daughter. The children receive excellent care from passionate and professional staff.
Casa Hogar Belen is located in the heart of an industrial area of Tijuana. The kids have access to a good education, medical care, and worship at a chapel right on the orphanage property. As a way to extend its reach, Casa Hogar Belen opens the chapel to the community twice a week for worship.
